Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk

Sunday, December 6, 2009

For the second year in a row, my friends Kim, Kathleen and I participated in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk, walking the 13-mile route from Babson College to Copley Square. We walk with Lia's Army in honor of Lia DiFronzo, a nine-year-old girl from Tyler's school who lost her battle against Leukemia last year. This year we had over 50 walkers for Lia's Army, and we raised over $20,000.

L to R: Me, Kim and Kathleen at our first rest station about 2 miles into our walk.

Mile 8 is at the top of Heartbreak Hill and always feels like such a huge accomplishment.

Jay and the kids met up with us to walk the last 5 miles. Unfortunately, the last 5 seem sooooo long! Here we are walking through Brookline.

Raine and her friend Rachael at the end of the walk in Copley Square.
