Every year Halloween comes around and we're scrambling to get the decorations up, put together costumes and carve/paint our pumpkins, and this year was no different. Raine and her friend Rachael decided at the last minute to be pirates so there I was in Walmart begging one of the managers to sell me what was left of the only pirate costume in the store (the shirt part, thankfully, which ordinarily they just throw away!!). I also had to rely on the goodwill of my friend Kim to help me make a cap so that Tyler could be a Pokemon Trainer--the easiest costume ever as he wore regular clothes, the cap and carried a Pokemon.
Halloween night was a balmy 50-60 degrees, so after trick-or-treating in the neighborhood, we invited our friends and their kids over for a bonfire. It was a lot of fun until one of the neighbors decided he wanted to "burn rubber" on our street and film it. Sometimes it's not the kids one has to worry about, but the adults!
