Whenever my family comes to visit, we all play Wii bowling. For those who haven't played, it does a fantastic job simulating real bowling, with the only difference being the weight of the ball (the Wii remote acts as the ball). So it's a game my grandfather can not only play, but play better than any of the rest of us. Jay and Opa were the only two to play consistently good games. But Aunt Ellie had a really great game, and I took a screen shot to post on the blog.
For some reason, I kept getting a wicked curve to the right, and after some ineffective coaching ("Be one with the ball" and "Keep your wrist straight!), I finally gave up and decided to have fun with the game. I channeled back to the Flintstones and twinkle-toed my way up the lane. Wouldn't you know I bowled a strike. So then I decided to get really creative, doing swan, ballerina poses, and finally twirls as I threw the ball. Everyone was just dying as I threw strike after strike. I bowled five strikes in a row, but missed a sixth which would have been a new record. However, I did bowl the highest game I've ever bowled. The funniest thing, though, was when we convinced Opa to do a twinkle-toes twirl as he threw the ball. Unfortunately, (or fortunately) we didn't catch any of this on video!

Aunt Ellie was so proud of her score of 183.

Of course, no one knew the effect that the "twinkle toes" throw would have on the game! That's my high score of 243.
