Christmas was a little different for us this year. Years ago Jay's mom looked at the calendar and decided that in 2008 she wanted to have all the kids up to Maine for Christmas at her house. We all agreed, and it always seemed like it was sooo far off in the future, until it wasn't. The plan was to celebrate Christmas Eve at Jay's dad's, to wake up early on Christmas morning and do presents, and then leave for Maine. Well, the cats liked to play with the Christmas tree a little too much this year, and one year our tree fell over out of the blue, so of couse my paranoia kicked in, and I nagged Jay until he agreed we should take the tree down before we left for Maine.
So that meant that we needed to do presents in the afternoon of Christmas Eve. Traditionally, I take a picture each year of the kids coming down the stairs Christmas morning, in all their sleepy glory, as they get their first look at all the presents under the tree. So I faked it. We were all in our pajamas still so this was easy. I won't put the pictures up on the blog because none of us do the unshowered, still-in-our-pajamas look well.
My father-in-law agreed to send me pictures from Christmas Eve at their house and once I get those I will post them.

It was soo weird to do presents and take our tree down on Christmas Eve!!
